About Senoia Area Historical Society and Museum
Senoia Area Historical Society and Museum gives the town a history longer than its screen identity. The society purchased the Carmichael Home in 1990 and opened the museum to the public in July 2010. Five display rooms and a research library connect local objects, documents and community memory within an actual historic residence.
Exhibits range from the Creek Nation and William McIntosh to a contemporary Walking Dead display. The society treats film as part of Senoia’s economic and social history alongside earlier industries. Visitors seeking a large collection of television props should understand that this is a community-history museum with a film component, rather than a themed entertainment attraction.
The current official pages set Saturday and Sunday opening from 1 to 4 p.m., with free admission. That schedule differs from an older summer timetable still quoted on a municipal community page.
