Brasserie Mon Chou Chou
At Pearl, a French brasserie built around regional family cooking, from raclette and onion soup to rotisserie chicken and duck confit.
About Brasserie Mon Chou Chou
At Pearl, Brasserie Mon Chou Chou gives French regional cooking a family frame. Its founders came from Strasbourg, Chartres and Lyon, and the restaurant traces its menu to dishes remembered from their grandmothers and the places where they grew up. Executive chef Laurent Réa is part of that founding trio. The result is a brasserie whose identity is easier to understand through familiar preparations than through a ceremonial tasting menu.
The raclette baguette sandwich makes that approach tangible: melted cheese is paired with cornichons and paprika aioli, with Bayonne ham available as an addition. Onion soup takes another route, with Emmental and Cognac in the Gratinée Lyonnaise. The all-day menu also gives substantial space to rotisserie chicken, duck confit and fish, so a diner need not turn a French meal into an exercise in unfamiliar ordering. The kitchen’s in-house baguette is a useful starting point for a table choosing different dishes.
The appeal for a date or a celebratory meal lies in that freedom. Two people can build a conventional starter-and-main dinner or begin with something to share before going in different directions. Raclette brings richness; cornichons supply an acidic counterpoint. A fish preparation offers a different path from the duck and sausage combination. Those are distinctions visible in the menu, and they matter more to a first visit than treating every French brasserie as the same kind of occasion.
