About Raymondskill Falls
Raymondskill Falls gives visitors a concentrated encounter with the landscape near Milford. The National Park Service identifies the three-tier cascade as Pennsylvania's tallest waterfall. Within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the site is approached from Raymondskill Road and experienced from designated viewing areas rather than from the water itself.
The main trail is short, approximately 0.3 mile, but the park describes it as steep and uneven. The upper viewing area looks toward the upper pool and cascade, while another viewpoint offers a different perspective on the falls. Distance alone is therefore a poor measure of the effort required, especially for travelers who need level footing.
The current conditions notice closes the Raymondskill Creek drainage below the lower falls, including the pool and downstream area. It explicitly excludes the Raymondskill Falls Trail from that closure. This distinction is important: the existence of a viewing trail is not permission to enter the closed drainage or seek a route to the base.
Pets, picnics, food and alcohol are prohibited at the site, and swimming or wading near the falls is restricted. The park also applies seasonal parking arrangements; its winter 2026 notice closed the upper lot from early January through April 15. Visitors should use the current conditions page for their date. The listed phone belongs to the recreation area's visitor information service, not to a staffed desk at the waterfall.
