Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park gives Louisville a public meeting place along the Ohio River, with open lawns, walking routes, playgrounds and public art. The operator publishes 129 River Road, 502-574-3768 and info@ourwaterfront.org for contact. That address should not replace choosing the right sector on the park map: the Big Four Lawn, children's play areas and PlayPort have different nearby parking lots.

Grounds open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Seasonal restrooms operate 9 a.m.–9 p.m.; early park access does not establish an open restroom. The current parking page marks the Blue Wharf and Green Great Lawn lots as paid. Other locations have their own posted conditions, and cars left after the park closes are subject to towing. PlayPort parking is at 1105 Rowan Street, separate from the eastern bridge area.

Big Four Bridge links Louisville with Jeffersonville, Indiana, as a pedestrian and bicycle crossing. Its rules differ from the rest of the park: pets are prohibited except service animals, and electric scooters and other motorized vehicles are prohibited, with personal mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs permitted. A dog-friendly walk in the park cannot automatically continue onto the bridge.

Personal grills are prohibited; park grills are available in designated picnic areas. Groups above 50 require an approved event permit. Consult the calendar for performances and the permit office for organized use, rather than assuming every lawn is available for an unscheduled large gathering. PlayPort is listed as an existing park feature in the current operator material; further westward expansion is a separate project.
