FASNY Museum of Firefighting

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting adds a different kind of history to a Hudson visit. Founded in 1925, it uses fire engines, equipment, photographs and other artifacts to explain how firefighting developed as a technology, public service and culture. The collection rewards more than a passing look at unusual vehicles: it also reveals how communities organized themselves around a shared danger.

The museum combines historical displays with hands-on activities for families. Not every interactive is suitable for every child, however. The Junior Firefighter Challenge has published height limits, and some activities are unsuitable for very young visitors.
