Christina Adult Education & Literacy Program

Christina Adult Education's English program is a classroom option for adults who live or work in Delaware. Its FAQ describes morning and evening groups, with placement spanning beginning literacy through advanced English. That offers a choice of schedule, rather than a promise that students can attend at any hour. Request the exact current days and times for the assessed level before choosing a group.

The official program page lists ESL teaching at Stubbs Early Education Center, 1100 North Pine Street in Wilmington, and Claymont Community Center, 3301 Green Street in Claymont. Its Bear Corbitt Road address is the program office. Confirm the assigned teaching location; a visit to the administrative address is not the same as attending an English class there.

An August 20, 2026 district notice establishes the new program telephone number, 302-595-3500 extension 1005, for future communications. Some older FAQ and Google contacts still show different numbers, so this profile uses the dated official update. General registration is held in August and January, with classes running September–June; someone who missed registration should contact staff about next steps rather than assume a place is available or that all enrollment is closed.

The FAQ expressly says there is no childcare and children cannot accompany students on school property during class. It also asks for a Social Security number or ITIN, while the program page discusses enrollment preference. Ask staff privately how requirements apply to your situation. The consulted Google listing did not display a rating for this Bear program; the separate older Newark listing's review is not imported here.
