The buildings occupied by the hotel were part of the Matteawan Manufacturing Company in the early 19th century. As one of Beacon's first factories, the building housed various activities over the decades: dyes, textiles, and lawnmowers, among others. Its curved walls responded to ventilation needs and its location beside the creek harnessed the power of the water. After a long period of inactivity and deterioration, the restoration preserved original elements such as the wooden beams and large industrial windows. The furnishings, lighting, and tiles are locally produced, in line with Beacon's arts scene.

The published hours are as follows: Monday 3:00pm to 9:00pm; Tuesday and Wednesday closed; Thursday 3:00pm to 9:00pm; Friday 3:00pm to 10:00pm; Saturday 11:30am to 10:00pm; Sunday 11:30am to 8:00pm.
