Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad

Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad connects transport history with the landscape outside town. Founded in 1993, the volunteer organization operates on a line originally laid by the Rock Island Railroad in 1886 between Abilene and Enterprise. Its excursions make that relationship tangible: railway infrastructure, passenger equipment and an agricultural valley become parts of the same experience.

The Flint Hills Express departs from the historic Rock Island Depot and travels to Enterprise.
